well, sometimes OCs aren't very orginal.
take a blue fox with pink hair, now i make a teal coyote with fushia hair, alll the friends of the fox will attack me for theft.

sometimes 'character theift' is a broad thing. or sometimes stolen characters are rip offs of someone else anyway.

I know that there are some kinds of characters and no one could said "this is original" but is not correct to pick a illustrations of a character we like and automatically said "this is my character". No one in the web said that Drizzt Do'Urden is it's own character apart R.A. Salvatore. But this is a famous character that no one can steal just because is too famous. Isn't there a right for a no famous character created by person in the years, character who has a story and background? Let me know.

Agreed. I can't stand it when people use other people's works to fuel their own projects. It's so easy for people to do so if the character has no real defining traits from a popular medium. (Like being a drow, night elf, etc.) People are always bound to take a original work with that type of racial resemblence, because few people who create them don't normally have a strong enough fanbase to ward away OC stealers. They're rare faces, so people think it's easier to take it and bend it to their will.

i've got called out for character theft just for putting stripes on a dog's tail, the dog in question is fushia with purple rings, mine was green with yellow and blue.

what about those orginal fan character that "look like simba but with black and tan tigar strips"?
people get bent out of shape for that.
some suck at OCs, and think if they make sonic the hedghog purple with longer hair and a girl, thats good OC creation.
